First Holy Communion
First Communion Requirements
CANDIDATES
- The candidate for First Communion must be baptized.
- Each candidate is expected to have attended the Pre-Communion sessions, a year before starting the First Communion process.
- He/she must be enrolled in this parish's Faith Formation Program by the first day of the scheduled sessions.
- The age to start First Communion preparation sessions is 8 years of age (Reminder: Pre-Communion level sessions must be attended a year before).
- Attend most of the sessions scheduled for the year. If your child cannot attend a session, parents please notify the catechist.
- Attend Sunday Mass, as well as on Holy Days of Obligation.
- Participate at First Communion Reflection Days, organized for this level.
- Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, on the scheduled day for the candidate’s group.
PARENTS
- Support our Faith Formation Program with your daily prayers, and with the specified donation per child. For further information, or if you are having financial difficulties, please talk to Sr. Angie.
- Participate at the scheduled parents’ meetings in order to organize everything concerning their children’s celebration of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist.
- Please make efforts to collaborate with the Catechists, so that the children can grow, celebrate and practice their Catholic Faith.
- Schedule the First Communion date for your child, according to the program's calendar that has been established for this purpose.
- Provide a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate, when you register him/her for their second year of the First Communion preparation process.
Requisitos Primera Comunión
CANDIDATOS
- Haber recibido el sacramento del Bautismo.
- Los candidatos deben asistir las sesiones de catequesis, nivel de Pre-Comunión, un año antes de iniciar la preparación para su Primera Comunión.
- Estar inscrito al momento de iniciar el proceso de preparación para la Primera Comunión.
- Edad al iniciar la preparación de Primera Comunión: 8 años (Recordando que asistió a las sesiones de Pre-Comunión el año anterior).
- Participar en las sesiones agendadas para el año. En caso de no poder asistir a una sesión, los padres notificarán al catequista.
- Participar en La Santa Misa todos los domingos y días de precepto (que obligan).
- Participar en los retiros de 1ª. Comunión organizados para este grupo.
- Recibir el Sacramento de la Reconciliación el día agendado para ellos.
PADRES DE FAMILIA
- Apoyar el programa de Formación en la Fe con su oración diaria y con un donativo, por niño. Si tiene dificultades financieras, favor de hablar con hermana Angie.
- Atender a todas las reuniones para organizar todo lo concerniente al Sacramento de la Eucaristía y Reconciliación para sus hijos.
- Hacer esfuerzos por colaborar con los Catequistas de Faith Formation, para que los niños puedan crecer, celebrar y practicar su fe cristiana.
- Agendar la fecha de la Primera Comunión del niño o niña de acuerdo con el calendario establecido para la misma.
- Proporcionar COPIA del CERTIFICADO de BAUTISMO del niño o de la niña que recibirá el Sacramento de la Eucaristía al inscribirlo(a) al SEGUNDO AÑO del proceso de Primera Comunión.
